So currently residing in my home country of South Africa for a while.
Of course my current demographic area will change the options of classic cars compared to Aus.
But Corollas , this place has plenty !
The great thing about finding/hunting for classic cars in this country is that we have large cities inland very far from the sea's salty breeze and humidity.

That is where this story beginnings in a city called Pietermaritzburg.
I posted an ad on our local Gumtree looking for Corollas,Datsuns,Cressidas and boy was i offered some nice stuff, 1200Gx, Mx32's, and many many Ke70/71s
but one stood out,

A Red Ke70 , 1 owner from new , and paper work and I mean ALL the paperwork.
The documents from day one , the fuel he filled up on day one to drive it home 100km's away and he filled up again to check fuel consumption. All the service receipts.
I was shocked! He then informed me of his occupation, being document control in a local hospital which made more sense as to why everything was documented and filed neatly.

Saving A Molested Ke30

$

Well, where do I start? The build I am currently doing is saving a completely molested and riced out ke30, full of bog, rust and mould. The first time I saw this car was when me and my mate drove down south of Adelaide so he could purchase it. Ive loved these cars for a bit over a year at the time and loved going out to see them. At the time, the car was rough as guts, full of rust and bog (which apparently the previous old fart owner did...yeah right) and countless more mechanical problems that would need fixing. It was bought from memory I reckon it was $750, not too bad of a deal but needed A LOT of work! Unfortunately, has a lot of rust and on top of that rust was the bog. :bash: Anyway, once my mate owned it, things just went downhill even further from there, no mechanical problems were fixed and the car was looking awful  Joel decided to straight pipe the exhaust to a milo tin fart box canon, held on by a coat hanger (sounded awful!), extremely dodgy vinyl wrap the bonnet, put a steering wheel on that he found in the boot which looked like a dogs chew toy, put some rota grid classic wheels on it (only good thing he did), bolt on flares which did not sit right and were held on with bunnings bolts and finally, build a front lip out of floor board with brackets welded onto the tow hooks.

All of this other than the wheels made me want to curl up into a ball and cry :lolcry: and I knew if he had it any longer it would be defected because his neighbours hate him so much they reported it to get it defected but the cop couldnt because it was on his driveway but said he will defect it next time he sees it on the road.

After all of that banter, the car just sat there for a month or two, the head unit got stolen, the carburetor was stolen (WTF) and one of the locks was munted out, the car was then just sitting and rotting. :(

every single car Joel has owned has been tampered with while its parked out the front of his house, had one ke30 stolen :rant:and many more problems with people touching his cars. Anyway, parents were out for a week so I decided it would be a good time to buy a ke30, Joel offered it to me for $450, not too bad! Without a carbie, I had to pull the 4k carb off my ke70 paddock basher, put it on roughly in the pitch black and putter along to my house. I finally owned my dream project car! Here are a few pics of it when joel owned it, looked alright from 100 meters away, I guess....

Waz' 4Agte Ke30 Build - Finally Starting

Hey All,

Decided to create a build page to hopefully keep myself inspired.
So story is 4agte into KE30.

This is not my first build however as I am pulling out my 4A from my ae92 build to go rwd.
Engine has been completely rebuilt a few years back and I have done maybe 1,000km on it and had trouble with the charger so stopped driving it.
So loom pulled, just need to do fluids and driveshaft’s and I’m ready to lift.

At this stage the 30 is pretty rough needs paint etc, but wanna mount up engine and drive for a bit, break a few stock diffs then do it all properly.
Here’s where I’m at.

Anyone Keen To Show Off Their Corolla In An Ad For Classic Corollas?

$

I'm on the hunt for some classic Corollas from the 70's, 80's and late 90's for an online commercial for Toyota Corolla.

We would need your Corolla for 2 days of filming in Sydney in late November.

The car will need to be driven by someone else whilst filming is taking place.

Utmost care will be taken to ensure the vehicle is always looked after. The care must be in good order and registered.

You will be paid for the usage of your car for 2 days.

Let me know how much you would like to be paid and if you are interested I can let you know more details.

Cheers

The Golden Hoonicorn-

Well, I thought I'd better catch up with the Golden Hoonicorn.. I haven't written anything on it and I've had several trips up and down to the Woolshed in it.

A few years back I was travelling North with my bro and saw a lovely gold XX flatfront auto sitting in the main street of Gulgong. As I was leaving a note on it the lady who owned it appeared so we had a chat. Maybe a year later she phones up and says its for sale now, and she'd like $1500 for it.

I sent an email to Steve saying a lady had ph'd me with a really nice XX I'd left a note on, and he sends back the same!! He'd seen it on the way back from the Orange Rally and left a note too, and she'd phoned us both! He'd talked her down to $900 but couldn't pick it up until the weekend, so a mate & I shot up the next day in The Girls KE70 and nabbed it for the $900.
A Dr front o'all.jpg

It has little dents in a lot of panels, some half a dozen small rust holes that has been repaired and undercoated only, and a tree branch fell off a truck she was following and landed on the bonnet.
B bonnet dent.jpg

It also had new leads, new plugs, new dizzy cap and new fuel pump... and wasn't that keen on starting instantly like the The Girl's Beast does. Someone was chasing a misfire or poor starting before me!

After a few months running around the head gasket gave up... no it didn't, it was fine, and someone had changed it recently!
C GG block & gask.jpg

Actually, the head was cracked, and I grabbed a spare from the Woolshed, gave the face a sand down with a steel block and fittted it! It ran fine, but it was never as quick to start as the Beast.
D GG head 'skim' A.jpg

It was all still a dead stock auto, but I went over the rust patches and did them properly with fibreglass cloth-
E boot drain hole glassed.jpg

and an aerosol can of the right colour. It needs a respray as there are tiny spiderwebs of rust under the paint, just like The Beast had when we bought it too, and I have another flatty bonnet to replace the dented one.

My '06 Toyota Aurion Sx6 Sportivo

I figured it was about time I started a project thread for the Aurion. I bought this car in May '15 and didn't really plan on doing any mods to it, but as we all know, things often don't stay standard for very long. I've always liked these cars, so when I finally had the chance to buy one I opted for this '06 SX6 Sportivo model.

It came with the 18" TRD wheels pictured, but apart from that was all stock. Over the last 6-months I've added various bits and pieces to make it more unique, and the latest addition of a cold air intake makes it sound like an absolute beast when you hit the throttle. It's not very often you see modified Aurions so it leaves people wondering what the hell it is, while still blending in as a family sedan at the same time.

So far the spec list is as follows:

Engine:

Ke70 Wagon

Hey guys. Thought I'd finally post up some pics of my KE70 Wagon, not my first E Chassis but definitely not my last and I don't think I could ever get rid of it. Bought it with a shitload of rust and needed lots of work. All rust was cut out and fibre glassed (may eventually cut and weld), engine issues were fixed. Got wheels from Japan (SSR Star Sharks, 13x7 -0 and 13x6.5+20), DX quad front (reproduction set I think), genuine PV front and rear chrome bars w/end caps and brackets, chrome weather shields, genuine Nardi Classic with a Personal long boss kit and I put new carpet in it. The next thing that'll be happening will be a 4AGE and it'll be engineered. Collecting quality RWD parts before doing it, besides that, the engine is still the original with owners books, log book and service history along with everything else. I've kept all the original parts as well.

Ke70 Grandma Auto

Had a few ke's before but never a registered one. So taking some parts from my 82 model to fix this APR 84 ive decided to build.

Picked this car up from Toowoomba with 225xxxkm's on the clock. Just a little 4k Auto. The interior is just immaculate! I fell in love with it and for $700 I couldn't complain. Log Books and receipts for the last 11 Years. The grandma took good care! Receipts showed she had only done 7000kms in those years and that the car was originally from South Australia.

Plans are to get her on the road. I have the parts to make it a 5 speed but I love getting a laugh out of people when I talk it up as having a 3 speed tri-matic haha.

Also could go with Quad headlights as I have those laying around as well but we will see!

Got started on the KE on Saturday just been. Took out the struts and LCA's with no dramas. Put the xt130 LCA's in and adjusted the caster arm to match. Problem was I couldn't release the tie rod end...

My mechanic helped me out yesterday (Monday) so I got those adjusted.

Everything was smooth again doing wheel bearings and cleaning up the rotors until I found out that the strut tops on the 82 model were 5mm different to the 84.. Oh well now I need to compress the spring and change the tops.

(Only thing changed since I got the car are the rims and tires as I sold the old jelly beans and bought MA61's with Yokohama Advan A50 Semi slicks!!!)

What Did I Buy? Its A 1975 Corolla But Nothing Looks Exactly Like It

$

Hey guys,

I am currently vacationing in Thailand (from Canada) and while out bombing around on a scooter the wife and I saw this car for sale and ended up buying it. I expect to get it back in Canada in about 7-8 weeks from now. I been trying to find the exact model I have but all the pictures I find look just a little bit different than the car I have. All I know for sure is it is a 1975 Corolla, we drove it around for a day and it is a blast to drive.

Both the wife and I are big into car shows in Canada and neither of us have seen one quite like this. I stumbled across this forum while google searching to try and determine exactly what I bought and figured you guys would be the ones to know for sure.

Looking forward to spending some time on this site and learning some more about this car, I plan to spend some time on it and restore the engine bay and whatever else I find needs work when I get time to tear into it.

Thanks for looking

Mitch Cooper

The "why Haven't You Finished Your Ke10" Thread

$

Hey guys,

I've had a lot of people (From here and just mates) ask where is my green Corolla, Why i haven't finished it, and wondered why i haven't been on rollaclub.

Well, This is why...

Posted Image

I've wanted one for as long as i can remember. I bought it in very poor non running/ rego condition 2 years ago.

Since then the car has had the entire electrics gone through, All the large dents and miss alignments fixed, All mechanical components have had a once over and been upgraded or replaced.

Car is a 1972 Crown, MS65.

Body remains factory with just a few small subtle mods, and keeping the original patina'd paint.

Interior is also mostly returned to stock besides a hidden sound system and gold mooneyes flake wheel.

Car is lowered and has GT GAS alround on 15x8 and 9 US Steel Wheel Co Steelies with Spyder caps and painted walls.

At the moment the plan is to just enjoy it finally being rego'd and driving..

Future plans include Matte Clearing the original paint, Replacing the motor and box with something faster, and air ride. I want this car to sit around 3" lower when parked than it does.

BUT... Now this car is done and moving, It answers the question of what i've been doing..

So now, Within the coming months i'll be getting my KE10 from my mates house, Stripping it to a bare metal shell, And finishing what i started years in the past.

Hey, as some of you may already know I have a coupple of other corolla projects, but i'v always wanted the 86 Trueno hatch.. so i figured i better get one before they become far too expencive...

I found a decent one in Danmark so i went to get it!

here are the pics form the listing

okay some specs, New doors, bootlid, hood, TRD ductail, "almost" rust free,
here are soe pics before he took it apart to rust weld it and remove the sunroof..
http://www.bilgaller...ta_corolla_ae86

annnnnd i got 3 4A-GEs aswell, 1 bluetop, 1 redtop 7 rib(atleast he told me it was the stronges one so i assume it was the 7 rib) and 1 4A-GZE in parts, also got 2 turbos and a couppel of intercoolers and a performance exhaust/extractor :)

the trip took about 36 hours and i only sleept like one or two so I'm exhausted right now...
had to protect the 86 from the salt on the road

at the ferry, had to take the cover off for the tolls and customs...

okay, so to get it into Norway i had to pay 630 AUD in toll/customs, the ferry cost like 500 and the car itself was 5000 AUD...

so then my plan is to dissasemble it totaly and sandblast it... then repaint, get new (poly) bushes, bearings, brakes etc then, i want to take the Levin front of and get a Trueno front end with a JDM bumper, got a zenki lip with the car, also got a TRD rear ductail so ill be adding that, the paintjob is going to be White panda, hoping to make it overrated, using some time and moeny on this one, she's a keeper! :P

also planning on getting a set of theese, 15x8 ET0, Rota RKR
I love them! RS watanabe lookalike

ill grap my DSLR camera and snap some pics next weekend, only mobile pics for now :)

20 Valve Ke55 Coupe

$

Hello, been lurking on here for awhil and Thought id make an as i go thread of my build I'm doing.

Basically accumulated lots of parts and then ran out of time and motivation to do it but circumstances vhange and now i have time to build it!

Its a ke55 coupe thats copping a 20 valve silvertop with a k50 a series gearbox, run by a haltech sprint 500,
1zzfe coils,
Hurricane 20valve headers
Carter black lift pump
044 feed pump,
Sard fuel reg,
Some china surge tank,
Reset rear leaves,
S13 Silkroad front coilovers hubs and brakes,
Speedflow braided brake lines and shit,
K-tuned inline universal thermostat housing,
PWR oil cooler,
Oil filter relocation
Ke70 booster with s15 master cylinder,
Ke70 rack and pinion,

I'm at the stage of deciding what to do with the cooling system but most probably will go with modifying the standard shit and putting weld ons on it and running speedflow of it,
Dizzycap has been cut down and modified to clear firewall,
Thermostat housing has been gutted and is being milled and welded,
Waterpump is going to be modified and pipes welded on to make it run to the radiator,

With the s13 shit i discoveredthat even at max camber adjustment at the strut there is still a fair bit of neg camber so next step it to shorten the silvia control arms and box them.

Is sort of a slow 'as i find time' project at this stage but atleast the ball is rolling now after alot of ʞ©$ɟing around haha.

Some pics of when i got it and how it is now, will keep the updates coming.

Cheers Nitin

My Ae71 Build Finally Happening

Hi all,

Thought it was about time I started a build thread for my AE71 CSX. I'll give you a bit of a run down on what I know about it and since found out about it body wise and what my plans are and have been for about 5 years since I bought it!

Before I bought it I always wanted an AE86 and pestered my friends brother to sell me his, to no avail, so I did some more research on older RWD corollas and found out that lots of AE86 parts are interchangeable into the AE71's.
As the thought process continued... hmmm 4 doors isn't as cool but is more practical, it seemed like the better and cheaper option.

So after hunting around for one for some time I came across this one on carsales, had a look, test drive, haggled a bit and ended up with the car and spare rust free panel parts thrown in!

I drove it as it was for a while, swapping between my first car, an AE82 twincam seca, while I gradually collected parts after doing lots and LOTS of research.

THEN THE BODY WORK!
Finally got started in December 2015 by a mate, who did some amazing work cutting out of rust and replacing with the rust free parts mentioned earlier and ended up with a ridiculously straight finish and an amazing paint job, which is a variation on the original paint code.

Hey there mates !
I picked up this little beaut on a total whim a few weeks ago. I was perusing my local classifieds for a car for my girlfriend and came upon this. She's more into american cars so she wasn't interested but i'm a sucker for toyotas and just had to go see it. Well it took quite a while to get warmed up where it could drive but it tracks straight and its as clean as we can get em on the coast here. i was surprized by how little rust is starting to show. So after a while of admiring it and bullshitting cars with the seller i broke down and bought it. my truck project was starting to bore me anyways.
Anyways i got it home and have been toying with the carb getting it to idle a little smoother and warm up quicker. found a very helpful thread about the auxillary accel pump and bypassing it. Cleaned her up and snapped a few pics.
Next up is some chrome bumpres to get rid of the fat american ones, and either a quad light grill or atleast clear corner lights. We'll see what kind of rear end i can find i'd like to keep this build all Toyota parts despite the difficult of sourcing all the parts here in canada.
once ive got the rear end figured ill know what direction I'm going in for suspension.

Hello everyone. I recently picked up a 92 AE94. It's been quite a while since I've had a toy. Had an 88 alltrac celica 20 years ago. I've been running hondas for the past decade. Looking forward to chatting with everyone, and I apologize if this is the wrong place for a greet post. I only use my phone for the internet, and it's hard sometimes with new sites.

Hi Guys, I've had this posted on 3TC however, I may be more at home here. I'll start moving my posts over slowly.

In March of 2014 I finally found a candidate to build. I was actually hoping for a TE27 but was very happy when I found this straight and complete clean title TE21 in Sacramento. Drove the hour and fifteen to meet my cousin and we headed to meet the seller at STS (Santo Toy Shop) in Sac. After looking over the car and a few test drives, we agreed on the price and completed the deal.

Got it home safely after a careful hour and a half drive home in the rain. The cut front springs and the steering box made for quite the intense trip home lol

It had a healthy albeit a bit leaky 2tc with a 4 speed trans.
